POLICY/ Climate change, COP26 and geoscience
In November we attended COP26, the annual global United Nations climate summit, held this year in Glasgow. We sent a delegation of staff and Fellows to raise awareness of the many ways in which geoscience is critical to delivering solutions that mitigate the impacts of climate change.
Visit our website to find coverage of all of our work around COP26, including publications, blogs and on-the-ground reporting. You can also watch a video of our dedicated event "Hydrogen - a silver bullet or a red herring?" and access our education and outreach resources on climate change and decarbonisation. |

We have been working hard behind the scenes to build on the incredible success of our Themed Year program by launching four brand new strategic science themes:
- Energy Transition
- Climate & Ecology
- Geohazards, Georesilience & Geoengineering
- Planetary Science
These themes will run simultaneously over the next few years, bringing multiple new areas of focus to our upcoming program of activities and events. Find out more about what you can expect from these themes at our website. |
